User Widget Zones
User widget zones
A user widget zone is a section on the page where users can configure their own personal space. They can choose from widgets defined in a global widget catalog by the administrator. They can add, remove and rearrange widgets within that zone to best suit their needs.
As an admin, you can add one user configurable widget zone on a hub page, using the page layout editor. When you click on the Add new widget
button, you can choose to either add a new blank widget, a horizontal widget zone or a vertical widget zone.
Horizontal widget zones
The horizontal widget zone provides the user with the possibility of adding as many widgets as they want and resize them to occupy as much space as needed. This type of user zone will always span across the whole width of the page and can increase in height as the users change the size or number of widgets.
Vertical widget zones
The vertical widget zone has a fixed width of one column. Its height is adjustable only by the admin. This type of user widget zone restricts the amount of widgets / widget size to the exact space the admin provides when configuring the widget zone while editing the page layout.
Global widget catalog
As an admin, you can configure widgets that will be available to users to choose from when they personalize their user zone. You can access the global widget catalog by editing the page layout and clicking on the edit button of a user widget zone.
Default widgets
Admins can configure default widgets for user widget zones. If you are an admin, when you click on the edit button of a user widget zone, you can choose to either configure your personal zone or the default widgets for that particular zone. When you configure default widgets for a user zone, those widgets will appear if the user hasn’t configured any widgets for their zone.
